About Me
My name's Adrian and I really, really, really hate bad websites. In fact, it's my mission in life to make user-friendly sites that people can update and maintain quickly and easily. (Oh, I also quite like my family and pottering about in the garden on weekends.)
What I Do
In geek-speak: Over the years I've finessed my own custom PHP/MySQL content-management system. Whether it's to provide content to a site that observes AA Compliance and full web standards, or an XML-driven Flash project, my CMSs make site updates simple and implementation a breeze. And it's not just about the backend. I ensure all HTML code meet web standards to ensure the site will maintain its integrity for years to come, regardless of which new browser users may view it in. I'm also proficient in Javascript libraries such as jQuery or MooTools, which have become ubiquitous with amazing user experience.
In normal-person-speak: When I deliver a project the most common response I get is, "I can't believe how easy this system is to use!" That's good.
Now I hasten to add that I'm not a designer, and don't pretend to be. But I totally understand the functionalities of user experience, web standards and accessibility. I can look at a layout and identify core strengths and weaknesses. I can identify what tools and technologies are needed for each project. And more importantly, I can make it work.
So what can I make work for you?
